• Appointed by David Jackson, Chairman of Redhall Group plc to undertake an independent review of a struggling specialist contractor of which he was the major shareholder.
• Following discussions between the shareholders and bankers, I was appointed Managing Director.
• Later, following the failure and default of their largest client, the company was placed into administration and I was appointed to pursue outstanding claims and retentions.

• Undertook a review of the business as a consultant and was asked to become Managing Director - a role that I undertook while undertaking other consultancy work.

• Responsible for all commercial operations of the company.
• Later appointed Company Secretary to this and all other Group Companies, with additional responsibilities for Finance, Human Resources, IT, Business Development and Plant.
• During a time of rapidly increasing turnover, introduced appropriate integrated management systems and monthly reporting regimes.
• Increased accountability amongst the senior managers by the introduction of performance review meetings, forecasts and budgets.

• Following the purchase of J F Donelon & Co Ltd by Amey plc, I was appointed Managing Director of the new Amey Donelon Ltd.

• Parent Company of J F Donelon & Co Ltd and Tysons plc.

Stockport / Horwich, Bolton

• Commercial Manager, Commercial Director and later Managing Director of a specialist tunnelling, civil engineering, building and plant company.
• Worked closely with Corporate Finance specialists, Insolvency Practitioners and with senior members of the industry in the successful purchase, sale and turnaround of various companies.
