Over the span of 8 years with Avaya, at one time or another I led almost every function in HR, including total rewards, talent management, talent acquisition/recruiting, OD, learning, business partner for 60% of the company, and so on. However, my biggest imprint on the enterprise was in leading the effort to transform our human capital strategy and then execute a change program to the entire HR platform to align it to that strategy. This was in conjunction with Avaya's transformation after Silver Lake and Texas Pacific Group took the enterprise private in an $8b leveraged buy out. I led and managed the evolution of our HR platform and culture, and all the associated changes with it. This was the third time that I had been involved in leading the creation or radical change to a human capital platform. While Avaya was headquartered in Santa Clara, I lived and worked in our largest employee population in the north Denver area with frequent commutes to the HQ.
