As a natural extension of my work at Efficiency NB to shape and develop a 3 yr energy efficiency partnership with the Provincial and Municipal electric utilities of New Brunswick, I transitioned to a role with Siemens Canada to establish a new office presence in Fredericton and to launch Siemens' 10 year partnership with NB Power to develop the smart grid solutions.Principal responsibilities included leading consulting activities aimed at increasing enterprise business capabilities through targeted initiatives comprising situational analysis, solution design, implementation planning, training and transition support.Selected project examples include:Led the design and deployment of an Enterprise Architecture program including: Developing processes, standards and system configuration for requirements management including taxonomy, classification and traceability; Developing processes to support standards management including their creation, review and curation; Definition and deployment of a solution architecture governance process based on TOGAF’s ADM including compliance reviewsLed the design and deployment of a Product & Service Lifecycle Management (PLCM) program including: Governance setup (key roles and responsibilities); Developing the processes and standards for a stage-gated due diligence process to take ideas from initial conception, to design, to construction, to testing and finally to deployment as well as a portfolio management process to continually monitor the performance of products and services in the market and to guide roadmaps and future investment decisions

During my time at Efficiency NB, first as part of the Marketing and Public Education team and finally as the Director of strategic partnerships & development and Manger of the Industrial Energy Efficiency Program, my focus was been on building a strong culture and commitment to energy efficiency in New Brunswick by initiating, supporting and strengthening key partnerships that provide significant value to the Agency.Led a team of 3 energy advisors with the goal of helping New Brunswick industrial organizations to improve their competitiveness, productivity, and environmental performance through the implementation of energy efficiency improvements. Example upgrade projects include bio-gas digestors, bio-mass conversions, energy management information system upgrades and process and system modifications and improvements.Built strong working relations with key business stakeholders, clients and other elements of government both Federally and Provincially.

As a part of the Province’s new Energy Blueprint, I led the development of a three-year electricity focused energy efficiency plan that would see Efficiency NB deliver programs on behalf of the Province's electrical utilities (NB Power plus the three Municipal utilities).Led the development of the organization’s first five year strategic plan, consisting of focused strategies, key results areas and measurable targets for five years.

Launched a Home Improvement Retail Marketing program to Building Supply banners across NB to promote Efficiency NB's residential programs by providing store staff the tools to identify customers as potential program participants as well as to assist current program participants with product selection and advice. This model was subsequently applied to other markets including retailers of major appliances and financial institutions such that the partnership program grew to include nearly 450 member organizations.This role include the management of one report.

In my time at Bell Aliant, I held four progressively advanced roles in the organization from new service development, to product management, to strategic planning and working with senior leadership to effect organization wide change. This included the delivery of several key strategic projects in the organization which required aligning the various business units within the company to a common purpose and vision. It goes without saying that convincing a series of business units operating within silos and with more than one hundred years of entrenched thinking requires leadership, tact and creativity.Developed, in concert with a cross functional team from marketing, finance, engineering and customer service, a strategy and corresponding business plan for the deployment of the fiber to the home consumer broadband network that was subsequently approved by the board of directors.
