Senior DBA for SAC environment with 6 DBA under supervision. SAC has over 1000 employees. I work with over 1800 databases and 180 sql and sybase servers.

I Provide senior level DBA support for SAC Hedge Fund on their Sql Server 2005, 2008 and Sybase servers. SAC is one of the largest Hedge Funds in the world, ran by Stephen Cohen. SAC does 5 percent of all trades on wall street on a daily basis. SAC has over 1200 employees. I am Responsible for the management of Agio DBA's and provide 24 X 7 support of SAC. Support of SAC includes monitoring of 20,000+ jobs, 135,000 stored procedures, 168 production servers, 15 Quant servers in Manhatten, all production environments, daily production changes, monitor performance of SQL and Sybase servers, develop profiler traces, responsible for backups and restores, Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring, DR site replication with Xosoft, database maintenance, and SAC database security. I am also responsible for SCOM alerts on Database files for disk storage issues. 95 percent of work is done on SQL SERVER with 5 percent in Murex Sybase databases. Monitoring is done by all DBA's with 2 minute response time to email issues. I also have implemented a 15 minute response for all Salesforce tickets that come into the queue. Weekends are used for maintenance of all databases and migration of databases to new servers. Environment consists of 1800+ databases and over 160 instances of Sql Server and Sybase. We also support other smaller Hedge Funds and handle their database environment. We use an inhouse built Agio Tools that help us monitor history of processes as well as expensive queries. We also use DDL audits on all databases to keep track of changes. I also use Idera tools along with Veritas tools. I am responsible for a team of 9 DBA's. We deal with terabyte size databases with many tables having over a billion records. One table alone is 500 gb. We are also responsible for the High Availability of these Hedge Funds.

I was Responsible for maintaining 4 different environments (Dev, QA, Test, Prod). Duties include but are not limited to, troubleshooting problems, daily backups and maintaining database security. Assisting developers with design and development process when needed. Other duties included, Using DTS and SSIS to extract, transform and load (ETL) data into different databases. Creating SQL Agent jobs to perform automated task for ETL, daily backups , and monitoring SQL server performance. Maintain a data warehouse and its daily data loads with interface into Cognos. Create and develop SSIS jobs for ongoing Dev and Production use. I was Responsible for daily task and projects for myself and Sub-ordinates. I worked closely with the development team on current and new projects. Tip of the spear. Current projects have included migrating from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. Converting DTS packages to SSIS packages, the complexity of some of the DTS required for a complete rewrite. I have also designed and used SSAS to build cubes for the data-warehousing and data-marts. I have created reports using SQL reporting tools (SSRS) provided by the SQL Server Business Intelligent Studio. I Assisted developers in bringing the printing of invoices back in house that has resulted in saving the company over $60,000 a month. I was on-call 24/7 to handle any and all production related issues. I was responsible for implementing new versions and upgrades to Database for Fiserv Insurance SQL Database applications. I helped to design and implement the DR site, and setup the recovery plan.

IT management services based company. Designed and installed over 500 companies with network hardware and software to manage their medium size business. I handled the SQL managed services for over 200 of these companies. I handled daily updates, backups, storage, software installations, and operating system upgrades as needed. I designed and wrote a database software for Food Banks. Software was integrated with Java and HTML. Software was an inventory control system that integrated into Accounts Receivable SQL database. Implemented SQL database from data modeling phase through data warehousing process. I Installed solutions using Microsoft SQL and 3rd party solution. I was responsible for monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting Microsoft Server environments. I was the SQL DBA for many of these companies and maintained support for them for over 10 years.
