Background: When I joined Go's leadership, our product and team were stuck in the early adopter phase with no clear strategy of how to bring Go to the enterprise/mainstream. The team was all engineers, as it had been since its inception as a research project 8 years earlier. Go’s success with early adopters from cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker) had plateaued. Portero is the leading authentic luxury marketplace for new and vintage luxury items.‣ Responsible for product, technology and operations.‣ Led company through launch of three products Portero Private, Portero.com and Portero's Vendor Platform, taking all from conception through successful launch and through continual development while keeping ahead of substantial growth (over 500% increase within 6 months). ‣ Conceived and implemented a new scalable business model centered around the creation of a vendor platform. Presented revised model to venture capital firms securing $6.6M in funding.‣ Restructured operations department, reducing head count and costs by 40%+ while increasing production. Reduced item processing time from average of 3 weeks to 3 days.‣ Renegotiated existing IT contracts resulting in 30% cost savings annually.‣ Established development team consisting of internal engineers and external development firms and consultants to rapidly build Portero's platform. Worked with clients including Priceline.com, Toyota, Stamford University and Real Salt Lake to provide innovative, cutting edge solutions. Utilized and contributed to open source technologies providing clients cost saving solutions.Responsible for building and leading team of developers and office staff.Projects included building and implementing a content and sales management system launching Priceline.com's affiliate program. Expert in Search Engine Optimization [SEO], User Experience [UX] including design, Content Management Systems [CMS] and scalable, multilingual E-commerce.Installed and maintained a full data center. Utilized many open source projects including Apache 2, Power DNS, Postfix, Mysql, PostgreSQL, PHP, Perl, Courier-IMAP, and OpenSSH. Data center maintained a high level of security and reliability.

CTO of startup Connect U. Brought on to help Connect U find a new direction once Facebook cornered the college market. Took company through brainstorm stage, aided in developing business plan and guided technology through a round of investing.Ultimately the founders decided to take Connect U in a different direction, pursuing a lawsuit with Facebook, which was eventually settled out of court.

Faced with the challenge of unifying operations in eight locations worldwide, I designed, implemented and oversaw the development and maintenance of a web application built using ASP and MSSQL, used to streamline data processing. This revolutionary system increased output substantially, while shrinking needed resources. It has been kept up to date and is still in use today, 8 years later.I managed a team of software developers and was responsible for communicating goals from management to the development team.Architected and implemented a reporting application in ASP that permitted users to create their own graphical reports through the web based on criteria of their choosing, a task that automated a previously manual task, providing significant savings of both time and resources.

Responsible for creating and maintaining databases for all Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Sterling dealerships. Databases contained all inventory, customer information as well as various financial models. While at this position a short time (about 1 year) made a significant impact by using technology to revise the database creation process resulting in two times the efficiency. This dramatically reduced both initial and ongoing costs to less than half.

One of the original 4 employees, played a lot of roles in this early Internet Service Provider. Worked through a number of positions ultimately playing a key role in establishing large New England ISP and guiding it through it's acquisition to American Telecom in 1998.Project manager overseeing key accounts including many web development projects and consumer websites.Pioneered e-commerce developing one of the earliest on-line stores for an international luggage company, (ebags).Installed and managed heterogeneous data center managing both Microsoft and Unix (Solaris, DigitalUX, BSD and Linux) systems on various architectures. Built one of the first localized search engines, ctsearch.com, nysearch.com and njsearch.com, which served the tri-state area. Oversaw the both IT support and customer support center and developed many procedures to handle support more efficiently.Developed a number of training manuals for company wide use.
