Rarely does someone get a chance to make a lasting difference in helping startups succeed. I am one of those fortunate few. As a program coordinator for Old Dominion University's ODU Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (ODU-IIE), I have worked one-on-one with highly creative individuals. Helping them take their vision and turn it into a reality.For over seven years with ODU Research Foundation, I have coordinated similar programs that resulted in $3M in startup new revenue and $5.3M in additional investment funding for new business ventures. As a rural team member, I have transitioned from full-time to part-time special projects coordinator to be still engaged, as I welcome full retirement. Graduate of Golden Gate University with multiple advanced degrees, as well as being a retired military veteran. My professional background includes an enterprise sales and government relations manager for a Fortune 500 company. I have extensive experience helping startups by drawing upon a vast resource network developed as a former Community College Director of Continuing Education and as a past member of the Chamber of Commerce and Tech Council Executive Boards. I am an avid public speaker, photographer, and videographer currently residing in Elkton, Virginia, with my spouse and truest friend, Sondra – who is a retired RN, Professor of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and who, in turn, is a creative potter and painter.
