I'm also an integral part of the team that manages the rights database and assists in identifying best solutions for capturing rights information in the various databases.Music: I am responsible for the music rights service and compliance within SBS - coordinating music reporting to ensure compliance with our obligations and providing internal clients with guidance regarding the use of music under the SBS blanket agreements.Licensing: I assist content areas in licensing content for use in SBS productionsArchives: I work closely with the SBS archive team to action in-house and external requests for SBS archive content, I assist in-house productions source content from third parties and I maintain a centralised record of third party supplier agreements.

Since I joined SBS as a Data Assistant in March 2012 as a lowly data Assistant, the Rights Management team has become the source of rights information on SBS content along with the acknowledged internal experts on use of the IBMS Advanced Rights Management database. As my role has progressed it has expanded into testing the system as each upgrade is received, assisting with training users and documenting what can and can't be done with the system and how it should be used. My knowledge and expertise has grown with the role and I have found myself servicing client requests - both internal and external - concerning licensing, rights, copyright and restrictions and compliance obligations supporting operational and business requirements. Most recently I have found myself working closely with the Archives team to find, research, restore and 'rights assess' items for internal and external clients.My own particular niche within this Rights Management team is primary responsibility for the News And Current Affairs contracts and also the SBS OnDemand TV catchup service - generally acknowledged as the industry leader.
