I have a strong professional background in GIS analysis in both the public and private sectors. My educational background includes a BS in Marine Biology and GIS Certification, both obtained at the University of West Florida. I am currently based in Pensacola Florida and would love to apply my skillset producing professional map products working in the geospatial field in a work-from-home atmosphere on a team focused on map creation and data analysis. I am currently employed as an Assistant Project Geospatial Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants. I was previously employed as an Environmental Specialist II with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, primarily involved with potable water, waste water, and storm water compliance and regulation. This includes on-site compliance inspections of public water systems, domestic and industrial wastewater facilities (with focus on surface water dischargers), as well as storm water compliance inspections for construction and industrial sites. This is a complicated, detail-oriented position that requires knowledge of both federal and state laws and regulations, ecological and environmental concepts, and direct interaction with facility operators, employees, and the general public. Prior to working with the FDEP, I was employed as a GIS Analyst at Biome Environmental Consulting Group (Pensacola, Fl), and as an Independent Contractor with the US EPA doing large-scale GIS analysis of environmental resilience as it relates to population and historical climate data (US EPA, Gulf Ecology Division, Gulf Breeze Fl). Both positions gave practical as well as conceptual experience with building and maintaining geospatial databases, novel approaches to problem solving using GIS software, and clearly and effectively visualizing data for public use.I am a creative, dedicated person who learns quickly and works well independently and/or in a team setting.
