Signed to Food Records / EMI in the UK and Polydor in the US, the band released three albums and a Best Of, including the critically acclaimed platinum-selling Disgraceful. The band achieved three top 20 singles, including Stars, Not So Manic Now and No More Talk. Dubstar had notable collaborations with artists including Gary Numan and Dubstar's version of Billy Bragg's St Swithin's Day was also used as the BBC's Euro '96 anthem. Career highlights included three performances on Top of the Pops and headlining the NME tent at the Reading Festival in 1996. Steve wrote and recorded two further Dubstar albums when the band attempted to reform between 2006 and 2014, but left the band before they were released to concentrate on other artistic pursuits.
