However, I have lived in Florida for most of my adult life.In looking back over my professional career, it all has involved some phase of housing. As a sociologist and urban planner in both Illinois and Florida, I focused on the quality of housing, demographics, growth, and the development of housing solutions and alternatives. Then, as a consultant, broker, and sales consultant for new home builders, I actively engaged home shoppers, builders, government officials, manufacturers, and other housing-related resources to create, market, and connect people with housing opportunities for themselves or their clients. Since 2006, as a Certified Aging In Place Specialist, writer, blogger, thought leader, and speaker, I help professionals and consumers understand aging in place, universal design, and visitable applications and solutions for themselves and clients they want to help.Based in West Palm Beach, FL, as Steve Hoffacker LLC, I offer my teaching and instructional services internationally – especially through online classes. My background allows me to offer effective, real-world solutions to my students and clients. I have already encountered much of what any aging in place professional or contractor might face.
