Also represented products liability claimants left behind by the sale to "New GM" in 2009 pro bono.

Appointed by the Delaware Bankruptcy Court to be the Chairman and CEO of New England's largest potato chip company. Signed Red Sox great Mo Vaughn to be the Company's product endorser one month after the filing, which single-handedly saved the 75 year old State Line Potato Chip brand based on the "Mo Ho Ho" billboards (Xmas 1996) and "Be a Winner Every Time, Follow Mo to the State Line" jingle (Spring 1997) that I conceived for billboards, radio, and TV spots throughout New England. The operating entity emerged from Chapter 11 in July 1997 and I moved on.

Appointed by the Delaware bankruptcy court as chief operating officer of this public restaurant company, which controlled 6 Red Robin franchises in the NY Metro area and 20 American Cafes in the DC metro area and had over 1,000 employees and $30MM in annual sales. The operating entity emerged from chapter 11 through a confirmed plan in 1996.

This waste oil recycling public company based in McCook IL grew aggressively through acquisitions of CA-based hazardous waste facilities in 1994 until it was shut down after it was discovered that 4 PCB-laden barrels of waste oil buried in among 20+ others were not screened by intake operators, resulting in the entire plant becoming toxic and the company eventually being forced into liquidation.

Senior associate in what was then a small but growing bankruptcy practice, led by Jack Butler in Chicago and Mike Cook in NY. I was Skadden's lead bankruptcy counsel on behalf of the debtor in the chapter 11 bankruptcy of Carter Hawley Hale Stores in 1991 and 1992. Left after a 3,500 hour billable year. Knew at that pace I'd probably not make it to 50.

Cut my teeth on bankruptcy in K&E's nascent bankruptcy group, which then comprised only 2 new lateral partners and 2 young associates to serve a client base that sustained over 600 lawyers. Today K&E's bankruptcy group has over 200 lawyers worldwide. I was given tremendous opportunities at a young age, and learned a lot through trial by fire.
