Onboarded management team to enable the PMO, Commercial, Planning, Delivery, HSEQ and Service Operations (customer installations) functions. - Developed the strategy for the planning and delivery of a 160,000 premise network across south Wales. Built the systems, processes, governance and team required to deliver a £120m roll-out. - Led competitor analysis and identified an addressable market that to maximise first mover advantage against other broadband providers. Built strong relationships with Welsh Government, leadership of Local Authorities, regional digital champions and regeneration stakeholders. - Led commercial strategy and engaged key advisers to develop contractual framework. Competitively procured key Build Partners on long-term framework agreements.- Developed wider procurement strategy, systems and logistics. Quickly identified core vendors and onboarded suppliers of Big Ticket active and passive equipment. - Found urgent innovative solutions to deal with the combined challenges of increased competitor activity, an ‘overheating’ sector and hyper-inflation on delivery costs- Overcame these challenges to deliver network ahead of programme and under budget.- Built a team of 50 direct labour Engineers to install customers. Developed a best-in-class onboarding process and training in the ‘Ogi Way’ that has seen NPS customer satisfaction survey results consistently above 4.7 out of 5.- Developed strategy and oversaw delivery of a 20-year concession with Welsh Government for installation of a fibre network from England to Wales on M4 and trunk roads.

John Laing plc was, at the time, one of the leading construction and development businesses in the UK.
