I joined Salecycle at the start of their product transformation, the purpose of which was to transform their existing data ingestion, processing and reporting stack, which was inflexible and had serious scaling issues, into a microservice based architecture built around salecycles current and future needs that was able to scale to whatever level required. This involved not only significant systems design and engineering work but also required instigating a cultural shift in the other developers. I joined Opentable as part of a 3-person api development team and helped build an api platform that regularly handled over 120 million read requests per day with minimal latency. This platform was built using a combination of node.js, redis, mongoDb for storage and c# for Etl operations from legacy data sources. These apis formed the backbone of Opentables transformation from a monolithic c# architecture to a Microservice architecture involving a variety of languages.Tech included: NODEJS, HAPIJS, REACT, MONGODB, ETCD, JAVA, .NET, ANGULARJS, GO, MS SQL SERVER, C#, ELASTICSEARCH, KIBANA, TEAMCITY, REDIS, HTML, CSS

My role at Tombola was as part of the web development team and as such I was primarily responsible for the customer facing website and its associated systems. The sites in question had reasonably high traffic (more than 120000 visits a day) with a loyal but demanding user base; as such any downtime is unacceptable. Amongst other projects I created the first version of the mobile Tombola site as well as the ui for the first Tombola mobile app.

Part of a team developing Eibs' enterprise content management system. Dealing with customers in the public, private and charity sectors such as Great Ormand street hospital, Air Partner and a variety of local councils. I did a lot of integration work with third party systems and as such need to be very adaptable and learn quicky. I was also responsible for the development of Eibs' own content management API along with associated client training.

Worked upon Claricom's industrial print design software. The software runs 24/7 so I learned a lot about writing robust C++.
