I am an entrepreneur and story teller working where people and data meet. Pre 1994, I was a bookseller, innovating in a conservative industry, with some success, but not enough. The web's invention compelled the technologist in me to jump into the digital marketplace. For the next 9 years I learned a web services trade as the guy who made sense of the emerging retail channel, and sold you services to make it happen.From 2003 to 2014 I found a rich seam of need in helping people in businesses understand how Google worked and in delivering Search Engine Optimisation services in the world's first Google Consultancy: my own practice, Search Johnston. During this time, I convinced Random House that they needed a book on SEO, which led my co-authoring 50 Way to Make Google Love Your Website with colleague and friend Liam McGee.In 2014 Search Johnston evolved into Taxonomics with Liam as co-founder. Taxonomics was the start point of turning the various services we'd been providing as consultants into scalable business products. The most successful of these was our Market Taxonomy service, which has had a transformative effect on a number of our retail clients.2018 we fully focused on our Market Taxonomy services and the determination to grow faster, with the creation of our new brand, Kaiasm. The Kaiasm retail Engine is a groundbreaking insight product and platform, that drives a focus on customers and serving their needs.Since 2020, post pandemic, and 2022, cost-of-living crisis, we've pivoted into Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies using our extensive experience of building and visualising knowledge representations for complex organisations to deliver strategic value. Our core offering now is: Rapid data maturity and AI-readiness for the enterprise with affordable staff. Using advanced SaaS software and trainable methodology to accelerate data governance, architecture, integration and AI-readiness ambitions.
