Promoted into a new hybrid position combining previous IT responsibilities with the addition of managing the warehouse operation. The initial intention was that I would simply be overseeing the experienced Warehouse Supervisor. Unfortunately, covid 19 lockdown arrived shortly after, followed by a huge increase in the number of orders. This tested the warehouse capacity beyond anything we’d previously experienced. The Warehouse Supervisor departed shortly afterwards so the position immediately became far more than a simple overseeing role!Also responsible for purchasing of packaging materials, replacement equipment and managing contracts with service providers ranging from delivery companies to utility companies.Achievements:Despite some initial covid chaos, we managed to quickly recruit and train enough pickers/packers to meet the increased demand, whilst also introducing covid safety measures.Stock replenishment remained an issue for some time as the warehouse systems and processes were just not fit for purpose at these new levels of business. Working in conjunction with the newly promoted Warehouse Supervisor we managed to tweak and streamline the systems to meet this new demand.

After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period I was promoted to IT Manager. Responsibilities had grown to encompass all aspects of building maintenance ranging from lighting through plumbing to alarm monitoring.Achievements: Migrated company from an old IP phone system to a brand new managed VOIP system whilst at the same time saving costs and improving service levels.Migrated company away from Google Suite to Microsoft 365 to improve efficiency and compatibility between the Microsoft apps being used in the business and the email system.

After the departure of the previous IT Manager I was offered the position of IT Technician supporting around 40-50 staff with any IT / PC / printer / telephone issues. Also monitoring and maintaining 4 virtual servers in conjunction with a 3rd party IT support company. At this point I opted to terminate activities with Microgenic.

Using Wordpress and a training plugin, I condensed the huge volumes of training notes into a much more accessible online training system. This provided us with a system we could use easily for induction training but also gave the consultants a platform they could login to and access at any time. I am responsible for providing both the initial induction training as well as ongoing training in the form of a weekly half-hour training session for the entire team. I also provide training on the use of our IT systems along with one to one mentoring and support in the office as required.RECRUITMENTI also provide additional recruiting support to the company. I continue to use Dreamweaver in conjunction with Wordpress in order to create HTML code as needed.The development of our main website www.seltekconsultants.co.uk can be seen from 1999 onwards on the Wayback Machine. Seltek has never paid for external web development; this has all been performed in-house by me.SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)After a third party SEO company failed to make any significant difference to our search engine rankings, I decided to teach myself the basics. This resulted in several listings in Google’s number 1 position and many page 1 listings. We still maintain a number of page 1 listings, for example, “science sales jobs”. I also optimise our vacancies as they’re posted often resulting in first page results – for example - Inside Sales Representative Immunology. Website performance is monitored using Google Analytics and regularly achieves in excess of 30,000 unique visitors per month.IT SUPPORT I am responsible for providing support on all of our workstations (up to 12 machines) and peripheral equipment. This includes supporting and training the users on the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adapt (our recruitment CRM software), diagnosing any software issues and working with Bond International Software (now Erecruit) to resolve any database issues with Adapt. Also responsible for fault finding and fixing hardware issues with PCs, laptops, and printers.
