This proved to the be the ultimate training ground for a communications professional, as I encountered a diverse set of circumstances that regularly changed, often on a daily basis.I was the primary spokesperson for local, national and international media relations. This included providing strategic, dynamic communications response to on-going crisis.

I produced weekly programs for the City of Aurora's cable channel 8. I researched and purchased programming and managed the department budget. I also developed community outreach programs and hosted events for the City's large multi-cultural population.

I wrote, produced and edited stories as well as coordinated activities of other staff members on daily assignments. I was truly the last line of defense for quality and accuracy of broadcast stories in a major television market. I worked under constant pressure and very tight deadlines.

I supervised a staff in all aspects of day-to-day operation of in a newsroom. I planned coverage and broadcasts from major events and oversaw staffing and budget efforts. I also worked as an anchor, reporter and photographer on a daily basis.

I lectured weekly in a collegeclassroom,sharing my pratical knowledge of mass communication while maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning. I developed lesson plans and tests as well as evaluated students on their classroom performance.
