We built the first USD coin backed by a US bank (TrueUSD). People told us it was too early and we couldn't do it. I wrote the whitepaper and found the bank. TrueUSD grew to $250M AUM and was acquired in 2020. We raised $20M+ from a16z crypto, Founders Fund Angel, Jump Capital, Foundation Capital, Stanford-StartX, Danhua VC, Distributed Global, Slow Ventures, ZhenFund, GGV Capital, Signia VC, and BlockTower Capital. I'm glad to have worked with a talented team and cofounders.

Founding researcher. We did R&D and commercialization for invasive and noninvasive brain-computer interfaces. This experience also led to an interest in alternate funding models for research-driven companies.

AltspaceVR was acquired by Microsoft in 2017, and hosted virtual Burning Man in 2020-2021.I designed and developed 3D interfaces for VR. AltspaceVR was the first-ever platform to offer realtime Javascript development for 3D objects within virtual reality. It was among the first VR-software companies to receive venture funding.

Developed a curriculum and led an undergraduate class on modern methods for neuroscience research.
