I worked on the team that created the user interface for SendGrid's Marketing Campaigns product. This includes features like a WYSIWYG drag-and-drop editor, a code editor with autocomplete, synchronized scrolling, contact management, segment builder, and more. Our application is developed using React and is integrated by Go micro-services.

I was the founding director of Turing's front-end program. I developed the syllabus for the seven month program and wrote a large amount of the original curriculum, which is open source and can be found at http://frontend.turing.io. I built a team of 10 engineers and instructors who delivered—and continue to deliver—world-class technical education to about 100 aspiring software developers every year.

Back when Turing only had a Ruby on Rails program (with some JavaScript sprinkled on top), I was the co-director of that program. I developed curriculum, lead professional development sessions, hired team members, and taught classes.

I taught eighth grade science at the Ronald Edmonds Learning Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. My responsibilities included developing inquiry-based science lessons and modifying existing curriculum for my students who received special education services.I also coordinate the IEP process all of the eighth grade students in special class environments at RELC.

I spent my first two years as a special education teacher working at West Side Collaborative middle school on Manhattan's Upper West Side. I taught primarily in a collaborative team teaching (CTT) environment. I wrote and modified curriculum for literacy, mathematics, social studies, and science.Outside the classroom, I differentiated instruction. Inside the classroom, I provided students with the skills and strategies necessary participate in the least restrictive environment possible.I tapped into my background in information technology and made frequent use of computers and multimedia in my pedagogy.
