Director Of It - Nashville Division (Out-Sourced)Holladay Properties May 2001 - Apr 2015South Bend, In, UsFixing the tape backup routine was my first project in taking over the IT of Holladay. Putting in stable virus protection was step #2. Created the initial LAN/WAN firewall schema that allowed for the growth of over 30 remote offices without making any core modifications. After 5 years, was managing a staff of 4 IT professionals in support of 125 employees across 11 states. My team was crossed trained in every area of the department. Primary focus was on learning and understanding each clients unique risk aversion. I like Dave Ramsey, and believe he has helped a tremendous amount of people, but investment advice is the weakest link in his overall strategy. If you have an extremely high risk aversion, you should not spread your investment capital across 4 types of mutual funds; Instead, you should invest less than 20% in stock, buy Treasury Notes/Bonds/Bills, and keep the rest in Money Market accounts. If you can not sleep at night because of the fluctuations of your portfolio, you do not need to be heavily invested in the stock market. -

Within two months, was performing all of these duties in 4 hours per month, down from 16+ hours when Dad was doing them by hand. Wrote Basic language programs to aid in the mass printing of tickets; a tremendous time saving process than increased our net profits by over 350%. These two situations taught me the true potential value of the personal computer before they became popular.
