Vice President of UK Health – a sector with an annual turnover of approximately £260m. Steve was accountable for setting the UK Health strategy and driving all sales in the sector. Sales targets were exceeded by over 30% in both 2007 & 2008. In addition, Steve directed the alignment of the medical BPO business with Atos’s traditional IT services business.

Responsible for Atos’s largest UK account, NHSScotland, managing over 400 members of staff, delivering over £55 million worth of services per annum. Delivered improved profits the trebling of revenue and a something in customer satisfaction. Led Atos’s successful bid for the £300m 11 year contract award with an option to extend to 21 years. NHSScotland procurement of an IT Partner – contracts were signed in October 2006. Steve also drove Atos’s public sector strategy in Scotland resulting in the formation of alliances with IBM and Sopra Group, and successful investments in Scottish infrastructure.

Taking the company from a concept to Scotland’s biggest inbound travel agent within 2 years. As Chief Executive of Scotland’s first public private partnership, Steve had to align the diverse aims and desires of stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. In visitscotland.com’s second full year (2004) the business performed ahead of its business plan, achieving over £33 million worth of sales.

Leading the Atos negotiations that resulted in the formation of the joint venture company, visitscotland.com. The negotiations covered all aspects of the joint venture between Atos, the Scottish Tourist Board, the 13 Area Tourist Boards, and the venture capitalists, Partnerships UK. Both the Scottish Tourist Board and Partnerships UK made it a condition of their investment that Atos assigned Steve to set-up and run the company.

Responsible for over 150 System Integration Professionals, providing the complete range of Applications Management and Systems Integration Services to NHSScotland. These services included development, maintenance and support of more than 120 systems, including all of the Scottish Patient Index Systems, Health Screening Systems, and the National Payroll System. In the 30 month period that Steve was responsible for these services, all service targets were exceeded and the Applications business grew by over 40%.
