Reporting to the Director of Direct Business, I am responsible for all physical retail activations and consumer events programs. Most notably, the first permanent retail presence for Dyson Canada at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Toronto.Core Responsibilities• Lead the Direct retail function, defining strategy to hit aggressive growth targets.• Manage all Direct retail operations and Direct retail marketing activity for Canada, focusing on Dyson Demo Yorkdale. Ensuring smooth running of the store with a full calendar of instore activity to drive traffic and consumer engagement.• Create and manage Dyson consumer events programs, working collaboratively with external agencies, with the objective of creating awareness of Dyson products across multiple categoriesKey Achievements• Proficiently led a cross-functional project team through a complex business change period. Culminated with all functions being ready to support a fully transactional Demo Store, ahead of our proposed launch date. • Contributed to a very successful first year at Dyson Demo Yorkdale. Breaking-even several months ahead of plan. Currently on track for $1m operating profit in 2018 (vs target of -$700k)• Developed comprehensive marketing and communications ahead of Demo Store launch, ensuring maximum awareness throughout the opening period. Resulted in 930 units sold in first two weeks of trading.• Launched the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer at a pop-up store activation at the Toronto Eaton Centre. Sold 127 units within 3 days, whilst driving incremental traffic to Dyson online channels.
