Steve performs as Principal of IT Audit where he leads audit and advisory activities over the domain areas of information security and privacy. Partnering with Technology and Engineering teams, he informs the development of annual audit planning, provides advisory services and manages the execution of platform engineering and cybersecurity based audits and special projects to continuously improve the company's ability to identify, mitigate, and manage risks.

Steve participated in the Tech Gig program as a TPM for the Guest and Host Tech Product team. In this role, he partnered with the Engineering, Design, and Product teams to establish and execute on product strategy and implementation for Co-Hosting tools.

Steve helped lead Airbnb to IPO by managing audit testing and analysis of all key reports, platform ITGCs and IT application controls. As part of pre and post IPO control activities, he also led quarterly certifications for 500+ controls and 80+ processes.

Steve performed as a Program Manager within SAS' Governance, Audit, and Advisory Services group. Functioning in multiple areas, he was responsible for managing SAS' compliance to government standards/regulations (e.g., NIST 800-53 and IRS 1075) for a number of customers, conducting and building internal audits against ISO standards, SAS policies, and government requirements, assisting with IT security risk assessment activities, participating in security investigations and compliance reviews, verifying issue remediation for both internal and external audit findings, and interfacing with customer auditors during pre and post sales activities.

Steve led integrated audit engagements, as well as engagements in emerging technologies with focus on privacy and data security. He was responsible for sourcing, planning, supervising, and completing comprehensive and complex risk-based audits within time and expense budgets. Additionally, Steve oversaw career development and coaching for staff including counseling, training, and assisting with identification of career opportunities.

During this time period, Steve transitioned from Consultant to Team Lead for the Emerging Technologies group within Verizon Internal Audit where he performed security-focused audits on the latest Verizon technology, products, and new business. Was responsible for leading all phases of audit projects from inception to completion, managing the workload of team members, communicating with senior leadership and executives, performing as a gateway between team members and the Sr. Manager, and actively developing relationships with business clients.

Steve performed duties as a Sr. Associate supporting KPMG's IT Attestation practice which helps organizations satisfy third-party risk and compliance assurance requirements and demonstrate the integrity of their control environment. Aligned to the Public Sector, Steve provided actionable insights to help organizations enhance their internal controls environment, reduce business operation interruptions resulting from multiple audits, and helped companies provide transparent controls-related information to customers and other stakeholders.

Steve performed as a member of the Compliance and Metrics team within Risk Management. Within this role, he collaborated to implement and maintain an enterprise-wide risk and compliance strategy to secure Sony's information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, building trust with customers and stakeholders.

Steve worked as a Security Analyst in Accenture’s Federal Services Security Group and specialized in Security Strategy & Risk Services. Project's included ETL/Data Integration roles, Continuous Monitoring, Vulnerability Analysis, and Apple iPad MDM Integration.

Steve designed and built Informatica ETL workflows to gather and combine CVAM Retail data for a widespread Customer Profitability project. He managed to gain a strong skill set with SQL creating tables and analyzing data using SQL Navigator. He also assisted with conducting interviews to analyze “as-is” processes. With gathered information he was responsible for creating technical requirements and business specifications documents.Within the Data Warehouse, Steve provided support to business users in regards to reporting tools Crystal, Business Objects InfoView, Business Objects Desktop Intelligence, and PBL Scorecard. He managed incoming tickets through BMC Remedy and was responsible for Support Reduction as well.
