He has combined an entire career of playing, collegiate coaching and working with young children into my mission to improve our youth sports culture.The Player:Played for Penn State University & Hannover 96 in Germany.The Coach:16 years as a head collegiate coach, seven of those years at Harvard University (2 Ivy League titles), worked extensively with A.C. Milan in Italy, and holds aprofessional coaching license from Germany. Spent 10 years on the Academy coaching staff with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.Locker Soccer Academy:In 12 years, we have had approximately 35,000 children attend our academy classes. He has worked personally with nearly 15,000 children. Authored, Playing For The Long Run, a book devoted to parents and their struggle to navigate youth sports in a healthy way. Having won eight league championships during a 16 year collegiate coaching career, he is wired for success. Being a thought leader in the area of kids in sports, success has an entirely different meaning than simple wins and losses.

Founder And OwnerLocker Soccer Academy Aug 2004 - PresentLocker Soccer Academy is a Child Development company using soccer as a way to engage children in their physical and social development. Primarily focused on pre-school age children, Steve Locker incorporated the input of several Child Development professors to assemble a curriculum that is unequalled in the youth sports industry. In addition to working with children ages 2 - 6, Locker Soccer also offers skill development for children through the age of 14.In 2011, Locker Soccer launched Locker Soccer Elite which offers teams for boys and girls in the U8-U12 age groups.Since it's inception in 2004, Locker Soccer Academy has two (2) Academies in Central Ohio (Powell & Gahanna). Steve Locker draws very heavily from his many years of soccer experience to insure an ever evolving and engaging curriculum for the young children in his program.Steve played soccer for Penn State University, for Hannover 96 in Germany, and was the very first American to earn a professional coaching diploma from Germany. During his 19 years of collegiate coaching, Steve's teams were quite successful, winning many league titles along the way. His 1996 Harvard squad held the record for consecutive wins in Division I that year. Steve was on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's coaching staff, spending nearly ten years teaching coaches. He has studied extensively with top clubs in Europe, including a significant amount of time with AC Milan. -
Head Coach, Men'S SoccerHarvard University 1991 - 1999As the Head Coach for Men's Soccer, Steve's teams won two (2) Ivy League Titles, held the record for most consecutive wins (16) in Division I for the 1996 season, and were consistently ranked in the top 20 during his tenure.
