About Steven Matz
Mr. Matz is currently the Vice President of Engineering and Planning at Philly Shipyard Inc. Mr. Matz has experience in preparing statements of work and manpower estimates. He has performed shipchecks for validating compliance with contract drawings and recommending changes to as built configurations. He has been responsible for coordinating SPY weapon system alignment and adaptation data updates. He is also knowledgeable in process improvement tools and techniques. Mr. Matz supported the LPD 17 Ship Design Manager, NAVSEA05D3. He was the Alion team lead for performing engineering review of LPD 17 design changes for new construction hulls. Mr. Matz has received an award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for outstanding achievement through value engineering for support of reducing operating costs to the Navy. He also received a special recognition award at Lockheed for his performance on the Web-based Common Adaptation Tool Development Program.
