Steve McCann is an assurance partner in PwC’s Technology Practice. Steve brings energy and a down-to-earth style to each of his engagements. His signature strength is being a hands-on partner who develops trusting, valued relations by working side by side with his clients and his teams. Steve believes it is important for project teams to have a common vision, to collaborate effectively and to share the motivation to achieve successful results. He spends most of his time at client sites in order to better understand the organization’s culture and technology and to get to know the individuals behind the organization’s success. Clients appreciate Steve’s ability to mobilize a team by providing vision and driving results with speed and responsiveness to each unique project or situation.As a result of working in Silicon Valley for over 19 years, Steve has developed broad-based knowledge of business, accounting, internal control and audit issues specific to Technology clients. He has worked with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms and has developed relationships within the Bay Area legal and finance community. Steve’s primary role is leading audit, accounting and internal control projects. He has led numerous global projects for large multinational clients in Europe and Asia and spent three years living in Europe, running client service projects for the Hewlett-Packard Company and Sony Corporation. Steve has a BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and is a member of the Cal Poly Accounting Advisory Board.Steve is a Northern California native who enjoys trekking the outdoors with a spirit of adventure that he takes into his excursions skiing, backpacking and motorcycle riding. Growing up the middle son of five brothers, Steve learned at an early age to bridge differences in personalities and how to drive resolution through collaboration and open communication.
