Steve Hills is a Managing Director and Head of the Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice at Stout. He has over 20 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership roles, including the areas of technical accounting, financial reporting, and transaction advisory. Steve brings a diverse transaction background, including experience with acquisitions and initial public offerings, serving a variety of industries such as technology, consumer products, financial services, and energy.Steve’s technical accounting experience includes: business combinations, consolidations and variable interest entities, stock-based compensation, complex securities, revenue recognition, and lease accounting. He is also experienced in the preparation and review of various SEC filings, such as annual and interim reporting, and registration statements.Prior to joining Stout, Steve was a Managing Director and the Denver office leader with Riveron Consulting. Previously, he was CFO and Treasurer of a publicly traded venture capital fund. He also held management positions with PwC and EY and led global technical accounting and SEC reporting for a Fortune 500 company.
