Steve founded Co-Intelligence Labs, an AI strategy and intelligence engineering company. Their clients include Fortune 100 companies and startups. He believes AI has the ability to solve many of humanity's greatest challenges while bearing risks that should be taken very seriously.His initial AI work focused on AI and personalization. He helped develop one of Microsoft’s first machine learning products before starting a PhD in applied machine learning at the University of Cambridge, where he applied advanced combinatorial ML techniques to personalized behavioral chatbots.Steve has driven strategic outcomes at Amazon, Microsoft, Accenture, and various startups. He has led the product, business, and technical vision and execution of several successful products and services, driving nine-figure revenues and launching 14 ML/AI products. Achievements include launching Amazon Pharmacy’s enterprise business, reviving Microsoft’s global publishing business, and launching Accenture’s nonprofit practice.He has deep industry connections and presents on AI and healthcare topics (UCLA most recently). He’s a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge, reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst, and has consulted for the Obama Administration and the Government of Tanzania. His academic research primarily focused on applied AI for personalized and remote behavioral support.He has lived on five continents, rustily speaks a few African languages, and is currently working on an art series on AI and identity.
