Responded to tenders that were regional in nature (Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Jordan), working hand in hand with the technical team in preparing the proposal, involving the vendor when needed. Eventually handled complete bids from start to finish, as well as single-handedly handling and organizing technical and sales presentations to clients. I dealt with Microsoft line of business solutions, RFID Asset Tracking, RFID Access Control, Automatic Vehicle Location Systems, HPC Solutions and large scale (web scale) data processing. DUC, being a systems integrator and solution provider, this also involved the requisite storage and networking devices from vendors like NetApp, IBM, Cisco and Brocade. Developed boutique software primarily for the telecoms and health careindustries and consulted for clients and partners on storage, transitioning anddeveloping on the cloud. The staple of our work dealt with Requirements gathering, Software Development, Data Architecture, Systems Integration and Maintenance. We worked across several industries, including Oil & Gas, Healthcare, NGOs IT & Telecommunications as well as the Financial industry.The most consistent client was Diyar United in Kuwait and the biggest client was the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) in Geneva where I designed their cloud infrastructure to be rolled out globally on a national basis. Implemented the first cloud in Jordan and negotiated deals on a regional level (MENA) for the IFRC with AMD, IBM and Dell. Solution had to be automated as well as robust and simple to use and to train for the smaller offices with less expertise.

Worked on and then led a team to develop next-gen multi-protocol (SMPP, CIMD, UCP/EMI) SMSC (SMS Center) to be used in-house as a VAS services platform. The SMSC was designed to be modular and several modules were developed or implemented such as billing, distributed messaging and logging. A second expansion was to allow for external clients to connect and use the SMSC as their gateway. The same SMSC was then purchased by a local Mobile Operator. Developed on CentOS 3.x, this project required work with C++, Shell Scripts (bash), minor Java and Python work. The backend was PostgreSQL.As well, Implemented VAS services for both SMS and Asterisk using Asterisk as the base IVR platform. Asterisk had to be streamlined to handle ~5000 calls at any moment.

Developed computationally intensive applications for clients such as The Kuwait Oil Company and helped develop a logistics application for a regional wholesale retailer where Max-Flow theorems where applied for product distribution scenarios.
