As an extern for Murray Richman's office, I obtained substantial experience assisting attorneys appear in state and federal courts for daily calendar calls. When not in court, I conducted research, reviewed discovery, drafted omnibus motions, summarized police reports on homicide, driving while intoxicated, assault, conspiracy, and enterprise corruption charges. On a daily basis, I observed how to properly manage the media, various aspects of negotiation, and a line-up, all while assisting in interviewing clients and witnesses in preparation of trial.

Under attorney supervision and MCR 8.120, I successfully drafted and orally argued a Motion to Suppress for a five felony arrest. I represented clients on the record at friend-of-the-court hearings, where individuals were charged with child support arrears. Additionally, I assisted in trial preparation, preliminary examinations, and status conferences.

While a clerk for the Honorable Judges Feeney and Yates, I drafted orders regarding de novo hearings, reviewed motions, and edited opinions. Also, I conducted research and assisted in everyday conferences and courtroom proceedings for divorce, custody, paternity, and complex civil and criminal litigation cases.
