Design Engineer
· LEADS Project leader: Scheduling the project, perform debugging, updating and managing outdated software that was meant for customers to order customized louver products for their needs. · Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for louvers and dampers by performing the following duties:· Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.· Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design using AutoDesk (CAD, Inventor, and Vault).· Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.· Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.· Plans and develops experimental test programs.· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.· Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.· Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.· Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.· Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.· Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.· Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product
Materials Inspector
(1) Samples and tests general construction materials such as steel, pipe, paint, asphalt, signal and lighting materials, guard rail, bridge bearings, cement, and pre-stressed and precast concrete; determines if materials conform to specifications and approves/rejects material for intended use.(2) Performs or provides technical supervision of sampling and testing of all types of aggregates and bases for quality and gradation; determines if materials conform to specifications and approves/rejects materials for intended use.(3) Performs inspections or provides technical supervision of inspections at bituminous plants and determines if the material produced conforms to specifications; approves or rejects the use of the material.(4) Inspect routine construction items such as asphalt or Portland cement concrete plants and roadside development. Perform duties of inspector in responsible charge of routine projects and verifying that contractors’ activities are in compliance with contracts.(5) Calibrates portland cement concrete and bituminous mix equipment.(6) Performs inspections of pre-stressed or precast concrete and special sampling and testing of materials required on federal aid projects.(7) Reviews or supervises the review of manufacturer's and supplier's quality control procedures and the sampling of products to ensure compliance with the department's pre-acceptance list requirements.(8) Sets up contracts in site manager; prepares records and reports of materials inspected and maintains records of test results, deal with discrepancies that might have appeared on the inspectors' contracts, production records and reports of general materials and aggregates approved for each project or for maintenance use; records summaries of materials used on each project.(9) Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.(10) Supervised summer interns for their activities and work reports.
