Family Run, Passionate Running store.achilles heel opened in 2000 and was based in De Courcy's Arcade in the West End of Glasgow. Building on a reputation of excellent customer service, product knowledge and professional advice from real runners, our family business gradually expanded and eventually we had to move to our larger current premises on Great Western Road. The name achilles heel came about after the owner, Katie, ruptured her achilles during a marathon. The name of the shop is a permanent reminder along with the huge scar to go with it that you can always make something positive happen from something negative with determination and vision.The website started in 2005 to provide a continuation of the excellence that is standard in the shop, making sure that the latest running shoes technology, newly released specialist running clothes and running accessories will be made available to more than those able to come in store.Whether it's our specialist footwear and running equipment, video gait analysis, sports injury clinic, or just professional advice from some friendly people, achilles heel can help make your running better.....
