Belgian Ice Cream Group NV (BIG) is the well-known Belgian Ice cream manufacturer of the brands IJsboerke and Mio.BIG is as well a manufacturer as a supplier of an extended portfolio of ice cream products.In March 2013 BIG was acquired by GLACIO NV, another ice cream manufacturer.Glacio produces ice cream specialities and focuses on export in and outside Europe. The Glacio Group represents a turnover of 90 mio EUR and 450 FTE.Daily managenement of all logistical operations of Glacio and BIG: inbound logistics, forecasting and Sales and Operations Planning, short term and long term production planning, stock management, handling and picking, storage, outbound logistics, transport and distribution.The Glacio group consists of 2 production sites (in Tielen and Beerse, Belgium) and 8 warehouses in Belgium, France, Germany and Japan. The total Supply Chain division has about 57 fixed FTE.

Day to day management of and responsibility over the production and logistics departments: inbound logistics, production planning, personnel planning, compounding, filling and packaging, storage, outbound logistics, transport and distribution.Achievements in 2012: Organizational and technical consolidation of 3 production-sites to 1 site. The technical consolidation included a transfer of 3 production lines and 2 assembly lines in line with the project targets regarding quality, safety, timelines and yield.

Day to day management of and responsibility over the financial department. Ensure periodic financial and management reporting, develop and follow up yearly budget for BIG, cash flow management and financing planning, cost calculation and cost management, management of insurance portfolio.Achievements: financial and accountancy integration after the acquisition of two other ice cream manufacturers. Support a Vendor Due Diligence in preparation of a potential sale of the company.

Day to day management of and responsibility over the logistics department: storage, stock management, order picking and warehouse management of half finished goods and finished products, outbound national and international transport and distribution, including previously owned responsibilities regarding the home vending organization (as described in function Logistic Back Office Manager).Achievements: The expansion of the internal storage-capacity with 100% by building a new freezer warehouse (5.000 extra pallet locations and 500 picking locations). The development and implementation of a new Warehouse Management System with additional automation in the freezer warehouse based on voice picking, registration of all internal transports based on scanning and management of the loading docks.

Responsible for the logistic automation- and planning project named ‘Ice on demand’, for 160 trucks. Continued optimization and automation of the home vending system was priority one. Based on collected data, the optimal delivery route is continuously calculated for each individual truck driver.Achievements: Replacement of the current driving mechanism of the traditional logistic system by ‘client adapted routings’ in the home vending system. The implementation of this project has lead in 2005 to a revised organizational structure at IJsboerke with a consolidation of all logistic activities in a new logistic department.

Nukamel NV is the Belgian sales organization of Nutrifeed, a Business Unit of Campina Melkunie, an international dairy concern in the Netherlands.Nukamel is located in Olen, and produces and markets next to milk replacers for young animals also semi-manufactured products based on dairy products.Sales Manager Europe and Asia: maintain the existing commercial distribution channels (sales representatives, exclusive importers or traders) and start up sales activities in new markets.

Provide advice regarding the optimal use of the products, responsible for follow up of technical product specifications and study management of European R&D-projects. Quality Assurance regarding product recipes and development and maintenance of quality procedures (GMP, ISO).

DeLaval Benelux is the Benelux section of DeLaval, a Business Unit of Tetra Laval Group, Sweden. DeLaval is a broad spectrum supplier for dairy producers.Product Manager Farm Supply and Spare Parts: Responsible for the product portfolio (such as chemicals, filters, coatings,..), marketing (market analysis, product positioning, promotions and commercial activities, catalogues, documentation,...), the technical and commercial training, and the monitoring and coaching of the sales team.

Link between the existing dealer network in Flanders and the back office of DeLaval: provide technical and commercial support to and training of agents and service engineers, in order to optimize the value stream in the distribution channels.
