The base content of parent company, StatPearls, has more than 50 million uses per month within the medical community, yet, as someone without a medical background, I often struggle to comprehend even the titles, never mind how the information relates to me or my loved ones.With initial support from Microsoft, our engineering team spent over six months fine-tuning multiple language models to meet our specific needs. This enabled us to translate complex, sub-specialty content into clear, useful information that goes beyond what is currently available in the market. It’s crucial to clarify that we are NOT utilizing any form of Generative AI that searches for answers. We are leveraging large language models (LLMs) to do what they do best, which is to interpret language, not generate medical advice from who-knows-where. Since StatPearls serves as the "source of truth" in medicine, our sole focus is on harnessing the language model for its strengths without the need for content generation.As of this morning, we have about 4,500 articles published and accessible. In addition to using a language model to enhance content accessibility, we ARE employing generative AI to produce images and videos, including YouTube shorts (don’t forget to check out and subscribe to our channel) for all 10,000 topics.
