• Management of 4 direct reports.• Responsible for £11M budgeted spend – direct (3000+ live SKU’s) and indirect (energy contracts, consumables, cap ex).• Defining of core purchasing processes – “back to basics” approach.• Creation and management of key monthly KPI’s – Inbound OTIF, redlist, inventory movements.• Supplier performance monitoring.• Negotiation of annual price increase requests.• Development and management of global group wide strategy for plastics (bottles and containers).• Stakeholder management – particularly finance, customer services, production and sales.• Overseas travel – USA and Germany.

Key responsibilities (NPI):• Purchasing project lead for New Product Introduction: deliver projects on time and within budget.• Removing BOM cost upfront by facilitating early supplier engagement with JCB approved suppliers.• Liaising with Group Purchasing colleagues to maintain and control project target costs.• Initiating project cost saving initiatives.• Cradle to grave purchasing: prototype purchasing through to production sample approval.• Ensuring that warranty agreements are in place for all components.• Managing incoming Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR’s).Key responsibilities (Group Buyer):• Managing production spend - including negotiating on-cost requests.• Initiating and managing cost saving projects; also maintaining agreed cost saving budgets.• Creating commodity strategies (fabrications).• Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance - carrying out supplier performance reviews.• Instigating Va/Ve cost saving activities on current production components.• Managing supplier nomination and approval process.• Supplier rationalisation.• Leading insourcing and outsourcing projects.• Management of supplier exits and enforced exits through administration.• Mitigating potential supply risks to production.

Key Responsibilities: • Managing a £500,000 a month budget.• Managing the supply chain of parts from the Far East and Europe: leading and managing contract negotiations in order to maximise the potential from lowest cost economies.• Ensuring that pre-set KPI’s were adhered to, including the maintenance of agreed stock holding targets. • Dealing with day to day stainless steel and exotic material enquiries, both standard and non-standard parts to drawing.
