Dr. Hackett’s expertise includes the economics of the environment, fisheries and natural resources, community development, and clean energy. His experience includes service as an award-winning senior university professor, academic leader, principal investigator, and senior consulting economist. He has produced numerous scholarly papers, technical reports, training materials, policy studies, decision support tools, and regional plans. Project funders or clients include the National Science Foundation, CA Sea Grant, CA Ocean Science Trust, NOAA Fisheries, CA Department of Fish and Wildlife, Resources Legacy Fund, CA Energy Commission, and many local jurisdictions. He has collaboratively developed innovative, interdisciplinary degree programs, as well as systems of program evaluation and adaptive learning.
