Primary duties include project leadership, project technical lead, and business development including generating sales to new clients and subsequent follow on projects. Primary technical focus is on optical system design (e.g. imaging systems, lens design, AR systems, etc.), computer vision, ultrasound, technology road mapping, and market research.

Conducted research in the nanoplasmonics lab at the University of Victoria under the supervision of Dr. Reuven Gordon. The research was primarily based on "aperture assisted optical trapping," an optical manipulation technique that utilizes small apertures in a thin gold film to focus electric fields generated by NIR or visible lasers to deeply sub-wavelength size scales such that diffraction-limited particles can be effectively manipulated using optical forces at low powers (<10 mW). Worked under Dr. Hiroyoshi Togo on the development of a novel new "dual-mode" laser that utilizes an acousto-optical tunable filter (AOTF) to simultaneously generate two stable emission wavelengths from a single gain medium. Contributed to the testing and development of a low-contact laser calliper used to measure paper thickness in an active paper-mill under standard working conditions. Worked on testing software (LabVIEW), and data analysis (Matlab).
