I used to be a business major, but after I couldn't get a game to work on windows 10 I found myself digging through forums and editing .exe files, then voilà! All the mid 90's nostalgia I could handle. The next semester I took an intro to programming course and like the nerd I am, I was hooked. I've been working full time, raising a family, and going to school, because of this my education has taken longer than normal. However, with more time comes more certainty that Software Engineering is the career that I want. Combine this with time in the professional work force and upervisory positions, I know how to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks. I am working currently as an intern on preservation management and archiving systems and I'm liking it. Learning Maven, Spring-Boot, Dev-Ops, deepening my understanding of Java, and what it's like developing software in an agile environment has been a great learning process. I am happy to continue learning and developing software. My internship will be ending in January and I am looking to relocate and establish roots.
