Responsible for leading the sustainable growth of Waterline to meet its goal of being the preferred operational Engineering consultancy for the East Coast mining industry.

Building and managing all areas of our multi-discipline engineering consultancy from an initial team of six to almost one hundred staff across three geographic locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Leadership and Project Management of a start-up business from concept, through design, to contractual relationships, to point of execution• Overall responsibility for all aspects of the business including financial, design, operational, contract negotiations, marketing, market research, grant writing, investor relations and supply chain• Setting and documenting business strategy, business development, stakeholder engagement, and creating suite of operational/commercial/technology/capital plansKEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Successfully established a start-up business operating in both China and Australia, with a Chinese Joint Venture partner, and secured lease for pilot site in Dafeng, China • Secured government grant funding and Shanghai ‘Incubator’ placement• Secured agreements with Australian stakeholders such as Technology and supply chain vendors, Universities, State and Federal Government agencies such as Tourism Australia and Tourism & Events Queensland and other industry bodies• Established contracted relationships in China with private and state-owned business entities, and participated in all contract negotiations to secure Joint Venture agreements with key Chinese stakeholders• Appointed “Entrepreneur in Residence” of the QUT Graduate School of Business, in recognition of entrepreneurial achievements and indication of support from QUT

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop life of asset maintenance strategies for surface and underground equipment, including high voltage and hazardous area infrastructure• Incorporated equipment availability and reliability data, RCM process, criticality analysis, statutory requirements and industry best practice into the Anglo American Maintenance Strategy Optimisation (MSO) process to achieve optimum asset life at minimum cost• Collaborate with Anglo American site personnel to implement equipment maintenance strategies

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Lead Electrical Project Engineer & Underground Mining specialist in a successful Underground Longwall Top Coal Caving (LTCC) mining project with budget of $157M• Involvement in all phases of projects from feasibility and design, through manufacture to site operational readiness, minibuild, installation, commissioning, operation and continuous improvement• Project Management and Electrical Engineering responsibility for wide range of site LTCC Operational Readiness projects including HV infrastructure upgrade ($5M), Longwall Relocation Machinery purchase ($9M), Minibuild Project ($1.2M), Underground Services preparation ($2M)• Responsibility for Electrical, Maintenance, and Automation aspects of each project• Responsible for a multidisciplinary team of 20 – 30 trades, contractors, engineers and coordinators• Contract management and stakeholder engagement for all contractors including Caterpillar, Bucyrus, GE Mining, Ampcontrol, labour hire companies, etc.• Ensuring all equipment design, installation and maintenance complies with legislative and site requirements, and relevant Australian Standards, in particular High Voltage and Hazardous Area equipmentKEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Successful delivery of LTCC project within scope, schedule and budget and meeting FY15 production target of 3.5MT production.• Delivery of life of asset maintenance strategies, SAP CMMS build, risk and change management plans for each project• Key member of the site Operational Readiness team, which was responsible for developing all site training materials and surface/underground preparation for the new Longwall system

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Project Management and Electrical Engineering of surface and underground mining equipment overhaul projects within scope, budget and schedule constraints and schedule constraints• Financial and Technical responsibility for all overhaul projects• Facilitate the Continuous Improvement and change management processes for Overhaul projects to improve equipment reliability through overhaul modifications• Contract management of external OEMs and vendorsKEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Achieved a $12M Longwall Overhaul in 30 days, the shortest in Peabody Australia history • Successfully overhauled a range of mining machinery from Longwall, Development, Outbye and Surface including ABM25 miners, Joy Shuttle Cars, Auxiliary Fans, Breaker Feeder, Pod Pumps, Conveyor system, Diesel mobile fleet, and other projects with budgets up to $3.5M

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Managed a direct report team of 20 – 30 operational and maintenance personnel • Responsible for ensuring production, safety, cost, automation usage and equipment availability KPI’s were consistently achieved• Provide management oversight and SME to the Longwall production section• Plan and manage all maintenance activities in the Longwall to ensure equipment is maintained to site and legislative require• Manage the Longwall Continuous Improvement process including RCA’s, RCM audits, process improvement initiativesKEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Successfully implemented Longwall Automation to the mine, in efforts to reduce operator exposure to dust and improving operational efficiencies of the Longwall. 10% increase to production, and reduced manning on Longwall production face from 7 to 5 operators thus reducing coal dust exposure and operational cost.• Led Electrical team for Longwall Relocation and Overhaul projects, each with capital of above $20M• Continuous Improvement projects as part of CoE initiatives, including Roof Support Cycle Time improvement project (reduced individual cycle times from avg 25seconds to 12 seconds with increased production of 500kT per annum)

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Managed a team of 12 Electrical and Mechanical tradespersons with the task of maintaining all Underground mining equipment to ensure maintenance, production and safety KPI’s are consistently achieved

RESPONSIBILITIES• Installation and Maintenance of Underground and Surface Electrical equipment, including High Voltage equipment and Hazardous Area systems

RESPONSIBILITIES • Installation and Maintenance of Electrical, Instrumentation and Group IIB hazardous area equipment in Distillery Ethanol production facility
