Steven Claridge is a highly motivated, intelligent and engaged gentleman with a passion for environmental and sustainable design. With over 20 years of experience in the building industry, Steven’s building designs and professional conduct have ensured that projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the customer’s delight. He has worked throughout the State, including in remote locations, and relishes the challenge of creating unique buildings that delight clients with their livability, affordability, and their sustainable design. Steven’s building designs have received regional, state and national design awards and he is recognized by his peers as an industry leader.Beyond his business ventures, Steven Claridge is the State President of the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ). His deep interest and desire for contribution in the building community drive him to seek the latest opportunities for the Building Designer professionals in Queensland. He has chaired and been part of many building designer awards for the Master Builders Association, Housing Industry Association, TAFE QLD, Queensland Homes and the Courier Mail. In 2015, Steve also cofounded the National Association for Building Designers and currently is Vice President. Steven’s caring nature has brought him to contribute to many charitable organizations on the Sunshine Coast. He has also led the St Joseph’s Primary School (Nambour) Parents and Friends association through the $7.5Million master plan upgrade between 2008-2011. Steve’s mission is to raise the profile and awareness of building designers within the building industry. Up to 75% of residential and over 40% of commercial and industrial buildings are designed by Building Designers. This fact, as Steven indicates, demonstrates the impact that building designers have on the built environment and that they should be recognized for their influence in development, the industry, and the greater community.
