Leads collaborative efforts between partner hospitals and the Core support teams to improve patient care, quality metrics and patient/community experience. Responsible for the professional growth and development of site Medical Directors. Develops tailor made strategies to address the unique challenges of partner hospitals.

Provides Emergency Physician Direction for a group of Emergency Physicians and Advance Practice Providers in a 50K visit Emergency Department and Free Standing Emergency Department with an annual census of 30K. He is responsible for quality metrics and goals, including CMS reportable metrics. Specific concentration on maintain Stroke Center and Cardiac Center certification as well as aggressive sepsis goals.

Provides executive oversight and guidance for multispecialty medical staffing contracts, across a wide range of hospital systems. Responsible for day to day operations, strategic planning and financial viability of contracts.

Medical Director, Emergency Department - (Apollo MD). The University Hospital Emergency Department annual census is 84K, it is a certified Stroke and Primary Chest Pain Center.

Chief, Department of Emergency and Hyperbaric Medicine, Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center a level two regional medical center with 40K annual visits, 118 staff and an annual budget of over 5.2 million dollars. Developed a hyperbaric medicine and wound care program using and existing multi-place hyperbaric chamber. This program treats patients from DDEAMC, the local VA hospitals and civilian emergencies. Revenue projections are in excess of $900K the first year. Identified and procured equipment and training to launch an electronic medical record and computerized physician order entry. Guided the development and integration of a joint Emergency Medicine Residency with the Georgia Health Sciences University. This brought prestige and resident manpower to our institution. Increased patient satisfaction from 68% to over 90%. Decreased patient complaints from over 100 per year to less than 10 per year. Decreased left without being seen rate from 14% to < 1%. Enforced physician contract requirements that resulted in recoupment of over $120K in penalties. Improved performance based budget earnings through monthly coder discussions with providers.

Assistant Professor and Course Director in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU).
