In this role at BMA I was based in Brisbane and also spent several months on site providing financial support to the site and also at a consolidated BMA level. Key responsibilities included:• Leadership and management of site analyst team (7 staff)• Co-ordinating the delivery of monthly financial reporting and analyst support for all Queensland sites - (7) mines - plus one port, within the BMA portfolio. Included month end close and reporting, commentary and analysis and short range forecasting using SAP and TM1.• Preparation, co-ordination and delivery of annual budgets and 5 year plans and associated analysis across all BMA sites.• Providing financial information to the corporate reporting and financial reporting teams as required for all BMA site related queries.

Accountable for the financial governance, analysis and planning for Australia Post’s Commercial Division in Queensland. Specifically responsible for:• Managing the Management Accounting and Credit Management teams, comprising of 28 staff, ensuring improved integrity and accuracy of management reporting and an outstanding debtor figure averaging under 4% per month.• Delivery of financial performance information and services; provision of comprehensive, timely and professional financial reporting• Provision of quarterly and annual financial forecasts and supporting analysis for the operating and capital plans (budgets)• Managing the financial analysis and interpretation of results from a functional business unit level within the State• Ensuring credit management services were effectively provided within approved credit policy

Key Responsibilities in this role were:• To provide high level leadership and management direction to the Sales Strategy Unit – 10 staff including 4 Business Development Managers (BDMs)• Establish strategic product plans and tactical activities to generate profitable revenue growth and plans to provide strategic direction to the sales teams• Ensure effective state product management for core products – Letters, Parcels, International and Financial Services• Ensure effective management and implementation of research and analysis• Ensure full and effective utilisation of Post sales and marketing channels to enhance the Post brand and product exposure.
