SLO Down Wines is a rapidly growing startup winery based in Northern California. Over the past three years, production of the flagship wine, Sexual Chocolate, has more than doubled each year and sold out quickly as SLO Down has developed a cult following. Since formally joining in November of 2011, I have opened and maintained numerous sales accounts with restaurants and liquor stores throughout the Bay Area. In addition, I have helped to promote the brand through media outlets in local and national print as well as electronic and social media. This fast paced environment is rapidly solidifying the identity of SLO Down Wines as a brand and my involvement has given me insight into sales, PR, and management of a dynamic company.

In founding the Eta Delta chapter of Simga Pi, we persevered through many challenges, and grew our membership from 6 to over 60 during my time as an active brother. Working with our national headquarters and Cal Poly, I helped the colony recruit members, raised and managed a $100,000+ per year budget, wrote our organizations bylaws and fulfilled our requirements to be chartered as a recognized chapter. After our official chartering, I sat as a chairman for three years and was in charge of creating, managing, and running house activities and reported to the President and Vice President.

Quivira Winery is located in the Dry Creek Valley of Healdsburg, California and prides itself on being a certified organic and biodynamic operation. The winery specializes in small lot wines, with extreme care given to choosing the appropriate varietals for the environment. While interning here for a harvest, I worked closely with the winemaker in every step of the harvest season wine making process. Specifically, I was responsible for conducting the procedures in the laboratory. Additionally, I worked with two other interns and the assistant winemaker to complete all the labor required to harvest, store, and maintain the 2009 vintage of wine.
