Steve Elder is a founding shareholder and leads our transactional practice. For over 20 years, Steve Elder has worked as a corporate attorney in San Antonio. Prior to starting the law firm of Elder Bray PC in 2012, Steve was a shareholder at Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated for over 15 years, and served as its Corporate Department Leader from 2002-2010. Steve is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas and worked for Arthur Young & Company prior to law school. Steve works with clients on a wide range of corporate transactions and other business related matters. Steve represents clients throughout Texas and the U.S. in acquisitions of companies and assets and effecting dispositions or spin-offs. Steve has also assisted clients in creating joint ventures and partnerships in numerous industries (including energy and healthcare) and involving complex matters such as choice of entity, structure, and issues relating to majority/minority ownership, 50/50 ownership and other governance matters. Steve’s securities practice includes equity financings for start-up businesses and well established businesses and also advising Fortune 100 clients on strategic investments in connection with commercial relationships. In 2012, Steve was awarded top honors by the San Antonio Business Journal for Outstanding Lawyer in Corporate & Securities.
