Montreal native Steven Elefant is the CDO and co-founder of North American-based Ville-Marie Collection Inc. Steven began his career working for General Woods & Veneers in 1985, one of the largest veneer companies in the world. He began his career as a laborer learning the manufacturing and various products. He worked his way up the corporate ladder to assume the President’s position in 1992 and lead the company to record revenues and profitability, while managing consistent activity in 82 countries. In 2010, Steven founded Genwood Industries Ltd., an international trading and distribution company for veneer, lumber and logs. Steven has, since 2002, invested and managed family investments in the hospitality and restaurant industry across the globe from the iconic FloriditaLondon, UK to Esencia Hotels & Resorts. Steven accelerated his direct hospitality industry involvement in 2008 by becoming the co-owner of the famous Newtown restaurant in Montreal and by investing in Stambac International in 2010. By 2014 Steven had partial ownership in five restaurants in Montreal and interests in two restaurants overseas. This was the tipping point when Steven decided to commit full-time to Stambac International and sold his interests in the wood industry. He co-led the company to a strategic corporate restructure and management buyout in 2015, at which time the company became Ville- Marie Collection Inc. Today Steven is the CDO and part-owner of Ville-Marie Collection Inc. He takes the corporate business development lead and holds a bachelor of economics degree from Boston University. He then went on to complete his MBA at Babson College - the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business with a concentration in Marketing. Following this, Steven accepted an invitation from Japan’s Ministry of Economic Development to pursue an executive MBA in Japan at the Institute for International Studies in Fujinomiya Japan.
