Utilized my skills in Manufacturing, Composites, and Operations to assist our customers in resolving production and operations issues. Worked with Spirit Aerosystems to evaluate a problem with dimensional stability on a series of composite parts. Through process walks and data analysis it was determined that the tool stream and cure method were contributing to the unstable dimensional conditions. Recommend a more through dimensional study of the SQRTM process to see if parameters in the cure cycle could be controlled to improve dimensional stability. Worked with GE Rotating Machines in Rugby, UK to improve visibility and business practices that were contributing to cost erosion. Provided metrics and process guidance for WAR Room meetings. Evaluated procedures from Bid and Proposal to Engineering release, Engineering Change Orders practices and manufacturing for potential impact to cost erosion worked with RMR team to rewrite procedures eliminating procedural causes of erosion.

Manage a group of up to 16 Material and Process Engineers at two NORDAM divisions. Nacelle and Thrust Reverser and Interior and Structure Divisions. Rebuilt the M&P Engineering Group at the INS division by finding and hiring a very diverse group of Engineering talent to cover the wide variety of products produced at INS. Added additional M&P staff to the NTR division to help achieve and support company and customer goals. Worked closely with NORDAM customers including Gulfstream, Pratt and Whitney, General Electric, Dassault, Cessna, Bombardier, Boeing, Airbus and Northrup Grumman, to meet their program goals and objectives. Work closely with the production floor to improve processing and reduce production issues.Skilled in a wide variety of composite manufacturing materials and techniques. Including hand lay-up, Automated Fiber Placement, and Compression Molding. Experience with Autoclave and Out-of-Autoclave materials and manufacturing processes. Experienced in several forms of Non-Destructive Inspection of composite materials and components including X-Ray, C-Scan, A-Scan, Thermography, and air coupled low frequency flaw detection. Worded closely with Supply Chain to qualify material suppliers to deliver product to NORDAM specifications. Including trips to China to find aramid core suppliers with lower cost and higher structural properties while providing better quality. Perform testing on materials and products to establish FAA allowable strengths for use on aircraft structures.

Manage the production and Engineering groups to meet production and coporate goals.Instermental in the launch of new products and processes. Working closely with the Advanced Development Group in the design and development of the SF50 VLJ program.Managing the Lean activities to help in the reduction of costs and waste.

Manage activities of Manufacturing Engineering and tooling departments at Cirrus Design Coporation in Grand Forks, ND. Grand Forks produces the composite parts for the Cirrus SR20 & SR22 line of single engine aircraft. Implementation of new processes, lean activites, scrap reduction, new product development and introduction, tooling acquisition and improvements.Set and maintained department budget. Assisted in product costing and quoting of external product activities.

Assisted in the development of processes and tooling to achieve increased production rates of composite parts for the SR20 and SR22 line of Cirrus aircraft. Achieved rate increases from 1 aircraft per day to 4 aircraft per day with maximum output close to 20 aircraft per week.Imporved the composite tooling to reduce scrap and increase production. Developed cleaning procedures to reduce scrap.

Midcom Inc. is a producer of transformers for the telecommunication industry. Utilizing cellular manufacturing techniques Midcom produced upward of 300,000 transformers per week from it's Aberdeen, SD facility.As a Manufacturing Engineer I improved the day to day processes to improve productivity, implemented new products and manufacturing cells, controled plant floor lay-out, evaluated and reduced manufacturing scrap. Became involved with Injection Molding, Laser Welding, Vacuum Potting, CNC Programming, Electrical Testing, BABT and UL electronic approvals, ISO 9000 certification, developed software for production monitoring.As an Automation Engineer I desigend and installed automation in the manufacturing cells. Skilled in the use of SolidWorks I designed and developed several injection molds for new products.Installed equipment and provided training to our Obregone, Mexico facility.
