The primary objective of this position was analyzing customer demands and coordinating day to day shipments including assisting in the planning of production in order to fulfill all customer requirements without keeping more inventory than necessary, The automotive industry is a very fast paced and intense environment that has extreme focus on quality and cost control. Along with inventory control and demand planning, other responsibilities include being the point of contact for customers, obligation negotiations with customers and suppliers, communication with team members, and results reporting to administration on-site and at the corporate office.

The main part of the five month internship was introducing and implementing a new SAP platform for the whole Tuscaloosa location. The implementation involved several weeks of training in SAP, managing material flows in the assembly plant and onto the assembly line, and training full time employees to use new platform.

Primary duties were to inspect, maintenance, repair, and test sensitive electronic equipment including component level troubleshooting. Worked extensively with customers, as much as fifteen times a day, to remotely troubleshoot equipment sometimes in very high pressure situations. Communicated with administration about trends in product malfunction. Helped with inventory forecasting to be adequately prepared for maintenance and repair duties. Learned about commercial driving and worked with commercial vehicles including the completion of log books and other regulations related to being a commercial driver.

Worked with very sensitive and strictly controlled inventories. Used time management skills to perform the many independent duties of the position. Planned for teams to work together to accomplish more difficult responsibilities.

Handled confidential information to ensure the greatest privacy for patients. Demonstrated great attention to detail to record patient procedures accurately. Communicated patients needs to other hospital staff when not within the scope my my duties.
