Currently I teach 8th grade Math with the Nampa School district, being licensed for 6-12 grade Math. I teach in the night school program and help with the tutoring program at my school. I have the privilege of helping students overcome their fear of math and watching them accomplish more than they believed they could. I also have a pre-k-12 principal endorsement. As one of the members of the team at Sage Valley Middle School, I helped the school improve its testing scores in Math. As one of the leaders of the Accreditation team, we accomplished accreditation for the entire district. I have also been a member for the State of Idaho’s Math curriculum approval team.Math is the one subject people brag about not being good at. I like to change the mindset of these students and show them how they can accomplish anything with hard work and some help. I am patient but demanding, not allowing excuses to prevent success. I learned this in the Navy in the nuclear power program, the ship had to accomplish its mission. I teach kids not just Math.I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration. I have completed my Doctorate program in Leadership at Liberty University. My desire is to use my skills in the role of assistant principal or principal, to use my management and leadership skills that have been honed by my previous work experiences to enrich the education of Idaho’s children.my motto- stolen from the movie Heartbreak Ridge is "improvise, adapt, and overcome".
