I set up and service Satellite transmission feeds for simulcasting at numerous sporting events on the West Coast with over 20+ locations from Vancouver, Canada all the way down to Mexico City. The transmission feeds are then sent back to HQ and then redistributed to a service provider, such as Dish, and sports books all over the world. Responsible for driving, maintaining and servicing Uplink trailers, permanent locations and productions rooms at various sites in my region. I work with each site’s production team and make sure that they are sending a quality SDI embedded audio/video feed via fiber back to the uplink before transmission occurs. Responsible for new builds, upgrades and troubleshooting that includes transmitters, upconverters, encoders, video routers, and various gear for receiving and transmitting signals. Setting up L-Band and C-Band dishes, VSAT dishes and larger 1.8, 4.2 and 5-meter offset and elliptical dishes to transmit on Galaxy 16. Assisting the Director of Field Engineering with updates, site surveys, and changes that occur in the field and ongoing field management.I attached pictures of the uplink trailers I set up and service, all pointed at Galaxy 16. Other pictures include transmitters, upconverters and other related equipment.
