As a detention deputy, my overall goal was the safe and smooth operation of the jail. I monitored inmates to see that they were not causing harm to themselves or others. If a fight occurred, I was responsible for breaking up the situation and reporting all misconducts that had happend to my supervisor. I was also responsible for ensuring prisoners' safe transport from the jail to courtrooms and standing guard while they await sentencing.

I worked as a watch commander for a security duty section consisting of 10 Master-at-arms sailors for a new missile defence base that was under construction. While I was stationed here, I had the honor of running the armory. I ran a team of 4 armors in charge of all weapons and ammunition for the base, and I scheduled range days and CQB (Close Quarters Combat) training with NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigation service) training for the Master-at-Arms on base.

I worked land-side security, standing 18 different posts throughout the base. I performed vehicle inspections for contraband and VBIEDs (vehicle born improvised explosive device), checked IDs, and conducted law enforcement through the base, ensuring all personnel and assets on base.
