During my seven month stay in DCU I was on two exciting projects . The first was a Monte Carlo simulation of ZnO nano materials using Matlab code. The project was challenging and really developed my coding skills which are very necessary in the modern science and technology field. My supervisor Prof Enda McGlynn was exceptionally helpful and his guidance I feel was very important to my personal growth s a young scientistThe second project was the development of current valving methods on centrifugal platforms for microfluidic analysis. This project was major defining moment in my work as a scientist. I genuinely loved this project. I learned how to use CAD and Solidworks for designing these platforms. I was shown how to manufacture the components and fabricate the complex layers. I wrote up sevral SOP's to show the process behind the valves. The Guidance from Prof Fiona Regan the head researcher at MESTECH and Ivan Magure a postgraduate within the group was exceptional.

Eventdimensions was very important job in the development of my charter to date. I learned loads of skills due to the diversity of the work carried out in this company. I was responsible for the setting up of events and on several cases the supervising of these events. I had to deal with clients on a regular basis and was on strict time schedules. The work was very tough yet very rewarding as when the clients would email in and compliment your efforts it felt amazing.
